Spring Fling
2019
10x20" acrylic on canvas
I admit, I struggled with the painting and had to put it away for several months before finally finishing it. Believe it or not, the Cedar Waxwings were indeed in this dual pose in my original photograph. I wanted to capture their quick movement as they bend down to pluck petals from the apple blossoms. The strong angles of the branches contrast with the soft, fluid shapes of the birds.
"Spring Fling" has been selected for exhibition in the 2019 Pine Ridge Arts Council Juried Show. |
