Scarlet Tanager

Look up, look wa-a-ay up, as the Scarlet Tanager gleans insects off the leaves at the top of the canopy. The Scarlet Tanager is often hard to photograph due to its proclivity of hanging out in the highest branches, so I was happy when I managed to get a good shot of one this spring at Thickson's Woods.
This bird stares upward through the new spring growth as if assessing how high he can truly go. |
