Indigo Bunting
2019
9x12" acrylic on canvas
Nature really turned up the saturation on the male Indigo Bunting! With its iridescent blue feathers, this guy would definitely stand out at your feeders if you are lucky enough to have one visit. The female, in comparison, is brown and may be mistaken for a European House Sparrow. However, she does have a hing of blue on her back as well.
I photographed this individual at Thickson's Woods in May 2019 and could hardly wait to paint him. If you would like to purchase items featuring "Indigo Bunting", please check out my Zazzle store. SOLD. |
